Until March 27, 2022 a fascinating journey through works of art, period clothing, magazines and film contributions, to discover the elegant soul of Amedeo Bocchi's female portraits.

An exhibition at the Ape Parma Museo that collects over 40 female portraits, made by the Master between 1901 and 1974, coming from the rich artistic heritage of the Monteparma Foundation and from prestigious Italian public entities and private collections.

The clothes on display aim to create a context, to propose a different but not too distant staging from that suggested by the paintings, to open a confrontation, a dialogue, between the painted dress and the worn dress. The image of the painting, in fact, must always be considered as a staging, as a story project where the dress is one of the many possible connotations of a portrait, such as the background, the setting, the presence of other figures or specific accessories.
