The bike path of the Lower Parma area Food Valley Bike connects Parma, a ducal city and Unesco creative city of gastronomy, with Busseto, the heart of Verdi's places, through a splendid territory to discover culture, nature, traditions and gastronomy

The length of the path is about 70 km flat, sometimes nearby laps the Po River and this is for cyclists of all ages.

A digital guide is available for cyclists, the Food Valley Bike App, for the details of the itinerary divided in two parts: the Pasta Route and the Salami route.

  • First stop - Parma - Colorno Colorno

The departure of this cycling itinerary is Parma, an ideal destination for lovers of culture and good food. Near the Barilla factory, we take the cycle path that will take us, after about 40 km, to our second stage, Colorno, crossing the territory of Parmigiano Reggiano, anolini, plum zucchella from Lentigione, and tomatoes from Sorbolo

In this part there are the Pastasciutta cycle path (from Parma to Sorbolo, about 18 km), the Zucchella plum cycle path (from Sorbolo to Coenzo, about 8 km) and the Anolino cycle path (from Sorbolo to Mezzani sul Po, about 14 km) and the Tortel Dòls cycle path (about 11 km up to Colorno).

In this part of the route, in the Mezzani area, you can turn to Brescello
After about 40 km you arrive in Colorno, known for its beautiful Royal Palace and, about the good food, for the "tortel dòls".

  • Second stop - Colorno - Roccabianca Roccabianca

In Colorno you can visit the beautiful Reggia also known as the little Versailles and surrounded by a delightful park.

From Colorno the Ciclovia della Spalla Cruda di Palasone starts (about 14 Km) and arrives at Sissa Trecasali and from here the Ciclabile dei Ciccioli, about 5 km, which leads to Roccabianca where you can visit the Castle, built by the will of Pier Maria Rossi, in honor of the beloved Bianca Pellegrini.

This part of the "lower Parma", which at times runs along the great river Po, is also known for the stories of the Piccolo Mondo by Giovannino Guareschi.

  • Terza tappa - Roccabianca - Busseto Busseto

The last part of this itinerary starts from Roccabianca: from here, the Culatello cycle path arrives in about 10 km in Polesine Zibello, the kingdom of the delicious Culatello! Here you cannot fail to taste this delicious cold cut and visit the Culatello Museum

Finally, from Polesine Zibello along the Spongata cycle path, after about 6 km we arrive at the destination of our beautiful route, Busseto, with the musesum dedicated to Maestro Giuseppe Verdi.

In Busseto there is the train station so if we prefer we can return to Parma following the same cycle path, or return by train, taking note of the trains with bicycle transport.
