In a land marked by cool mountain waters and unspoilt landscapes, the picturesque village of Fiumalbo, which is one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and the recipient of the Orange Flag by the Touring Club Italiano association since 2001, dominates a wide sunny valley.

The Tuscany border is not far away: just 10 km away is the Abetone Pass and from the whole area there are numerous trails that reach the nearby summit of Cimone and the subsequent Apennine ridges.

Located in the middle of the natural park area of the Modenese Apennines, in this small resort, during the winter, you can take walks in unspoilt natural surroundings, go Alpine skiing on the mountain trails, snowshoe trekking, freeriding and mountain biking in the snow.

December usually kicks off the skiing season, which offers visitors a number of things to do in a decidedly warm and welcoming atmosphere but above all, this area is a great alternative to the more common tourist sites.

The resort features a ski school with an adjacent carpet lift to take you up the slope, two tubing slopes for breathtaking descents, a children’s play area, a 1.5 km long cross-country ski trail, a trail designed for snowshoe excursions and many off-piste tracks that are sure to thrill.

At the entrance to the slopes, well-equipped facilities provide rental of all the necessary gear for visitors to enjoy themselves in the snow. At 1,400 meters above sea level, you can enjoy excellent local cuisine and stay overnight inside the picturesque Capanna dei Celti mountain shelter.

In summer, when the snow melts, the area turns into an expanse of wide verdant meadows, officially kicking off the trekking season. Trails of varying levels of difficult branch off over the entire area, starting from the valley floor and ending up on the peaks of Modino, the Libro Aperto, as well as Cimone and Lagoni, making it the ideal place to enjoy the beauty of the mountains and, at the same time, escape the heat of the plains below.
