It is located at 1355 meters above sea level, in the heart of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, close to the Cerreto Pass, a watershed and crossroads between Emilia Romagna and Tuscany.
Nestled in the National Park of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, Cerreto Laghi sits on a lake of glacial origin, part of a system of lakes formed by the melting of ancient glaciers: Lago Cerretano, Lago Scuro, Le Gore and Pranda.
It is one of the most important and equipped tourist resorts of the entire Apennine ridge. Its favorable geographical position makes it easily accessible from both the Emilian and Ligurian-Tuscan sides, thanks to its connections with Reggio Emilia, La Spezia and Aulla via the SS63 road.
The first tourist facilities were built in the '50s, and expanded over the years, coming to constitute the present tourist ski resort well known for alpine and cross-country skiing. The chairlift is also activated in summer, in order to facilitate excursions and trekking on high-altitude trails.
The hospitality structures offer over 600 beds in different types of accommodation, from hotels to campsites to apartments.
Cerreto Laghi is a place to visit all year around, every season offers different landscapes and sports to practice.
In addition to skiing, the main sport activity, in Cerreto Laghi there are hikes organized all year long (with snowshoes in winter time). It is also possible to go hiking, mountain biking, also with e-bikes, along tracks that lead to the highest peaks of the National Park, offering splendid views towards the valleys below and towards the coast: from the peaks it is possible to see the sea, the Gulf of La Spezia and the island Palmaria.
