A small Italian town a few steps from Modena, Guiglia is part of the Terre di Castelli Union.

Don't miss

About one quarter of the Municipality of Guiglia lies within the Regional Park "I Sassi di Roccamalatina" with its characteristic and picturesque rock formations and a rich environment of flora and fauna. The spectacular sandstone monoliths that emerge on the surrounding hills, with sheer walls where birds of prey such as the peregrine falcon and the kestrel nest, are the heart of the Regional Park.

Keeping fit

Trekking is always possible just to discover the spectacular sandstone monoliths of Roccamalatina that emerge on the surrounding hills, with sheer walls where birds of prey like the peregrine falcon and the kestrel nest, in the heart of the Regional Park.

In the surroundings

A few steps from the town we find the famous Romanesque church of Trebbio whose foundation is attributed to Matilde di Canossa in the twelfth century, on a previous church of the eighth-ninth century.

Not far away, near Samone, there is the parish church of S. Nicola which preserves inside a painting of Saint Nicholas of the 1700s and a golden panel of Madonna and Child of the 1500s. The ancient top of the village, occupied by the Castle, is the Poggiolino, which is home to buildings with underpasses, portals and the pointed windows of the 1300/1400. Here there is the permanent exhibition of "tigella".
