Fontevivo is a small village near the exit Parma Ovest of the motorway and it is about 4 km from Fontanellato
Thanks to its position on a busy route from Central Europe to the Mediterranean, Fontevivo is home to the Po Valley Import-Export Centre.


Why visit it

Its historical importance is linked to the presence of a Cistercian Abbey founded in 1142.
In the simple and austere interior, among the significant works that the church holds is a Madonna enthroned with Child, known as the "Madonna della rosa" for the flower she holds in her hand, in red Verona marble attributed to the sculptor Benedetto Antelami. 

Next to the church is the Collegio dei Nobili built by the Farnese in 1733 (in the area of ​​the ancient monastery).

Fontanellato
Famous for one of the most famous castles in the province of Parma, the Rocca di Fontanellato, it is about 4 Km from Fontevivo and in the beautiful village there is also the Santuario della Beata Vergine.

Ponte Taro
Near Fontevivo, Ponte Taro is a small hamlet is located in the Taro River Regional Park which extends from Fornovo to Ponte Taro. It is also located on the road of the Castles of the Bassa Parmense and along the path of the Via Francigena.
