Reggio Emilia hosts the exhibition of the Israeli artist Yuval Avital (Jerusalem, 1977), alongside the Spallanzani Collection of the Museums Palace, within the “Bestiary of the Earth” project.
The core of the exhibition is the Cadavres exquis, hybrid beings, half animal, half human or assemblies of several animals that frightened - but actually fascinated considerably - the collective imagination by going beyond the human model.
The artist gives voice to his subconscious and his imagination by shaping hybrid and fantastic creatures with often bright and contrasting colours, sometimes suspended in the void, others integrated into alienating settings.
