San Mauro Mare: a trip to the sea with your 4-legged friends!

We start from the amazing Don Ivo Rossi Park, which is located a few steps from the beach. It is a large green oasis of 20,000 square meters, full of paths suitable for children and adults. 

It hosts a multitude of plants with medium and high shrubs, from mulberry trees to cypress poplars, from locust trees to the famous tamarisks praised by the illustrious poet Giovanni Pascoli, who was born here.

On the north side of the large park, served by a large and convenient parking lot, is the dog  Area "Amici di Guli", which takes its name from the inseparable 4-legged friend of the poet.

Inside the park there is also a soccer field and a play area for children. On summer Mondays here the weekly market takes place.

A few steps towards the center, you reach the Parco Campana, with its permanent exhibition dedicated to the architect Stefano Campana. 

This is a small and lovely park in the center of town, equipped with children's play areas, comfortable benches and adjacent to the new “Arena Arcobaleno” where during the summer various shows are organized and entrance is also allowed to animals.

Leaving Parco Campana, on the side of Via Colombo, you go towards the sea. 

After a few meters you are directly on the beach of San Mauro Mare, a large stretch of beach that from autumn to spring can be a great playground for your dog. 

In summer, since the coming into force of the bathing ordinance, pets are allowed in most of the establishments that are accessible and equipped for them, while it is necessary to respect the hours established by the ordinance for a walk on the shoreline in their company.

Finally, at the Fido d'a-mare in San Mauro Mare, you can find an area where pets are allowed to bathe even in summer.
