From 8 December 2023 to 7 January 2024, you can find in Bertinoro the Nativity Scene in a grotto, set up inside the snowpit of the former bishop's seminary, along the "Monte dei preti" path, which runs along a significant part of the city walls.
In the evocative space of the cave carved out of the Romagna Spungone, where in the past the snow was collected during the winter, the work "Ascolta Israele" (Listen to Israel) by Cesena artist Franca Rossi has now been placed.
The installation, donated by engineer Gianfranco Traverso to the Interfaith Museum of Bertinoro, was made entirely of ceramic tiles of various sizes, partly in stoneware and partly glazed, and poignantly represents the nativity of Jesus.
First opening: Friday 8 December at 3 pm.
The grotto (with entrance from Via del Soccorso) will be open on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 10 a.m. to 12 noon and from 2.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. For small groups outside these times, it is possible to book a visit by contacting the staff.
