The romantic village of Castell'Arquato on the foothills of the Val d'Arda, between the provinces of Piacenza and Parma, every year hosts some events for New Year's Eve and the Epiphany.
In the early afternoon of December 31st, L'ultima dell'anno (The Last of the Year) takes place, the last guided tour of the monumental square, the Collegiate Church and the Rocca Viscontea. At the end, a toast at the local Enoteca Comunale.
The last day of the Christmas holidays corresponds with the arrival of the Befana in the village. As usual, the old woman arrives at the Rocca Viscontea on the afternoon of January 6th. The Befana goes for a walk with children from the Tourist Office to the top of the tower, where she empties her rich bag!
This event is for families and children from 4 to 9 years old.
