In the year of the centenary of the death of Giacomo Puccini, the city of Salsomaggiore Terme organized a series of meetings on the theme of "Chini, Puccini and the Terme Berzieri" with the scientific coordination of Maurizia Bonatti Bacchini.
In fact, Salsomaggiore can also boast historical links with the great musician who maintained friendships and collaborations with Galileo Chini, the artist of the spa town, author of the decorative systems at the Terme Berzieri, at the Grand Hotel des Thermes (now Palazzo dei Congressi), and at Villa Fonio.
There are five free public events:
“Earths, shapes and colors for the Terme Berzieri”

Speaker: Vieri Chini, artistic director of the Borgo San Lorenzo factory as well as curator of the historical archive of the furnaces that produced the ceramic and glass artefacts for the Berzieri Baths. This meeting exceptionally includes a practical demonstration of decoration on lathe artefacts.
“Terme Berzieri in the history of photography”

Speaker: prof. Paolo Barbaro, professor at the University of Parma and head of the photographic archive at CSAC.
