The exhibition Fattori. Humanity Translated into Painting is hosted from 16 December 2022 to 1 May 2023 at Palazzo Fava. Palazzo delle Esposizioni.
The exhibition aims to restore the artist Fattori's gaze, which is at the same time enamored of and disenchanted with existence.
Fattori has the important ability to capture the immutability of human feeling, the eternity behind appearance.
It is possible to follow the entire creative evolution of his painting, as the works are grouped into themes. Beginning with his early research on the sketch technique applied to the documentation of the war events of the Risorgimento, to the spectacular 'portraits of the soul', painted between 1861 and the early years of the 20th century, in which introspective sensitivity is combined with marked Tuscan-style realism.
There will be a selection of over 70 works from the production of the undisputed master of the 'macchia', precursor of 20th century modernity.
