From March 5 to July 19, 2026, Palazzo Pallavicini celebrates Ruth Orkin, one of the most significant photojournalists of the 20th century, with a major retrospective featuring 187 photographs, documents, and memorabilia that solidify her crucial role in visual history.
The exhibition explores her distinctive cinema-influenced narrative style, ranging from the dynamic shots of her 1939 cross-country bicycle trip (Road Movie) to the perspective views of the From Above series, where daily life is transformed into a spontaneous stage caught between motion and stillness.
Furthermore, the showcase highlights Orkin’s expressive power through famous portraits of icons such as Albert Einstein and Marlon Brando, offering a modern critical perspective on a body of work that remains incredibly relevant today.
