The routes pass through historic villages and breathtaking landscapes, providing a unique experience between spirituality and beauty.

Numerous activities are on offer: from visits to parish churches, monasteries, convents, sanctuaries and abbeys to excursions along the old pilgrimage routes, from urban trekking (also in the company of 4-legged friends) to exhibitions and tastings of ancient monastic recipes.

The 4 Jubilee Routes of Emilia-Romagna

On the occasion of the Holy Year, the CEI is proposing seven itineraries in Italy that have the aim of reaching Rome and can be referred to as the Jubilee Ways of the Churches in Italy*.

These four pass through Emilia-Romagna: the Via Francigena, the Way of St. Francis from Rimini to La Verna, the Via Romea Strata, and the Via Matildica del Volto Santo.

Churches and Jubilee Places

*By traveling at least 100 km on foot, or 200 km by bicycle, on any of the Jubilee Ways, one can obtain the "Testimonium," a certificate of mileage issued by the relevant authorities through the Dicastery for Evangelization.
