Modena is dedicating a major exhibition to Giorgio de Chirico, a key figure of twentieth-century art and founder of Metaphysical painting. “Giorgio de Chirico. The Last Metaphysics” brings together fifty works from the Giorgio and Isa de Chirico Foundation, offering a close look at the final decade of his career, from 1968 to 1978.
It will be an extraordinary opportunity to explore the artist’s last creative phase: a surprising and intense period in which De Chirico returned to his most iconic subjects: mannequins, the Piazze d’Italia, enigmas poised between dream and memory, reinventing them with a new style, more ironic and luminous.
