The second edition of Challenge Cesenatico, the medium distance triathlon part of the prestigious international Challenge Family circuit, will be held on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May 2026.
Three separate competitions are planned in:
Sprint Triathlon City of Cesenatico – Saturday 9 May: Triathlon over the distance of 750m swimming in the sea – 20km cycling – 5km running on a flat route
Duathlon Junior – Saturday 9 May: Duathlon (running and cycling) over various distances, based on the age category, and will involve children and teenagers from 6 to 19 years old. It will take place partly inside the Levante Park and partly on the Cesenatico seafront
Challenge Cesenatico - Sunday 10 May: Triathlon Middle Distance (1900 m swimming - 90 km cycling - 21 km running) in which the ‘Swim Bike’ (1900 m swimming - 90 km cycling) and ‘Team Relay’ events will also take place. The 1.9 km swimming portion will start from the beach of Cesenatico; this will be followed by the 90 km cycling portion, which includes a flat section at the beginning and end of the route and a central part that winds its way for over 40 km through the hills of the hinterland, making the route rather challenging due to the approximately 900 m difference in altitude, but certainly of great scenic charm. And finally the 21 km running portion on the Cesenatico seafront, completely flat to allow athletes to express their full potential. The finish area will be located inside the Parco di Levante.
