When the desire for adrenaline meets the love of the outdoors, adventure parks are born. In Emilia-Romagna there are eighteen such parks, scattered throughout a vast area that stretches from the pine forests of the Adriatic coast all the way up to 1,500 metres above sea level in the Apennines.
Spending a day in these parks means breathing in the pure mountain air, surrounded by forests and enchanting lakes, or the heady scent of the maritime pine forests. Above all, however, it means fun for the whole family in complete safety, an opportunity to test your balance and concentration thanks to the various activities on offer.
Those looking for a challenge will certainly not be disappointed by the many adventure trails available, from the most classic to the most innovative, suitable for all age groups. Children, for example, can jump on trampolines, climb onto rubber dinghies and launch themselves down water slides, or even climb artificial walls with the assistance of an instructor.
Teens and adults, on the other hand, are spoilt for choice with a range of treetop aerial adventure courses, of different levels of difficulty, Tibetan bridges, cableways and zip-line descents. Some parks offer the thrill of free-fall jumps from treetop platforms and high-speed descents on raised monorails.
Once your feet are back on solid ground, there are relaxation areas, snack bars and picnic areas waiting for visitors, perfect for recharging your batteries before your next adventure.
If a whole day is not enough, when the summer weather sets in, some of Emilia-Romagna’s adventure parks give visitors the opportunity to spend the night in the treetops, sleeping in a suspended tent (tree camping), or to have dinner in the middle of the forest.
The parks are often the ideal starting point for hiking excursions in the surrounding areas and trekking trails.
