This resort, situated in the Apennines, along the road of the "Porcino mushroom", above Parma and immersed in beech and chestnut woods, is popular for its genial climate. From here, along kilometers of curves that offer panoramas of the splendid Parma hills, you get to the Cento Croci and del Bocco passes, which mark the border between Emilia and Liguria.

Why visit it

It is also a departure point for nature walks along the unspoiled Gotra mountain stream and to Mount Gottero (1,640 m).

Don't miss

At the Palazzo della Comunalia, the Porcino Mushroom Museum has opened, thus enriching the choice among the Food Museums. The Museum has two locations; the other is in Borgo Val di Taro.

Significant appointments

In the woods near Albareto, a famous and tantalizing Porcino mushroom grows, to which every year in September the important National Fair is dedicated.

In the surroundings

About 10 km away, the beautiful Castle of Compiano dominates the hill in one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Founded on the road that connected Emilia, Tuscany and Liguria, it is a mighty manor from which you can admire the panorama of the Apennines.
