Festival Illica is a musical event that pays tribute to the illustrious figure of opera librettist and cultured journalist Luigi Illica.
The event returns this year in the enchanting setting of the medieval village of Castell'Arquato. From 4th to 7th July, concerts, shows, and moments of in-depth analysis create an intense week of events under the artistic direction of Jacopo Brusa.
The festival's program for the 2024 edition includes guided tours of the museum dedicated to the librettist, poetic-sensory itineraries in the village, a conference-debate analyzing the relationship between Illica and Puccini, and concerts.
The centerpiece of the event, on the evening of Friday, July 5, is the opera-symphony gala "Caro Illica... Viva noi," featuring Preludio Sinfonico (1882) and arias from La Bohème, Manon Lescaut, Maria Antonietta, Madama Butterfly, and Tosca.
