Museo della Salumeria Villani is in Castelnuovo Rangone, a few kilometres from Modena’s historical center, right in the heart of Emilia’s epicurean land, where charcuterie has been produced for centuries.
To walk through the doors of MuSa is to discover the flavors and colors that enchant our palates, the art, and the skills used in charcuterie making. The itinerary is a multimedia experience where modern production methods are illustrated giving an insider’s view of the production facility.
A tour enriched with descriptive texts and anecdotes about single products, antique machinery, artifacts, and a display of spices and herbs used in the making of charcuterie.
A tasting of fragrant Villani charcuterie served on the Museum’s roof top terrace concludes the tour. You will taste prosciutto crudo di Parma PDO cured for 24 months, Cinquefiori MaxI cooked ham, Il Gentile salami, PGI La Santo Bologna mortadella, accompanied by a glass of local Lambrusco wine.
