On the thirtieth anniversary of his death, Parma also intends to pay homage to Luigi Ghirri, one of the greatest masters of Italian photography whose fame has gone beyond national borders. “Labyrinths of vision. Luigi Ghirri 1991” an original exhibition, can be visited with free admission, and will be hosted in the halls of the Governor's Palace from 17 December 2022 until 26 February 2023.
The exhibition, curated by Paolo Barbaro and Claudia Cavatorta, takes its cue from the photographs that Luigi Ghirri left to the CSAC on the occasion of the publication of the volume "Journey inside an ancient labyrinth", created with Arturo Carlo Quintavalle and published in 1991.
The more than 200 images that make up the overall project of the exhibition, all coming from the collections of the Photography Section of the CSAC, will show paths in the work of Luigi Ghirri and in the models he identified inside and outside his own production: his photographs but also images he loves or which have been an opportunity for his reflections, come together like a labyrinth of mirrors where it will be possible to meet unexpected consonances.
