The exhibition is a journey to discover the origins of street art through the works of Keith Haring and Paolo Buggiani.
This form of art was born in New York at the end of the 1970s, in an environment in full cultural ferment, and it was in this context that Keith Haring, in his early twenties, decided to use the Manhattan underground as a place to experiment with his art.
Paolo Buggiani made his creations in New York in the same period. Among his friends who, like him, considered the metropolis as a museum in which to create their works was Keith Haring.
The Italian artist was the first to realise the potential of his friend's drawings and to save about 50 Subway Drawings from certain destruction by removing them from the walls before they were covered with new advertising posters.
