Not your “typical” food festival: La Bonissima is an event dedicated to the finest agricultural and culinary products from the Modena region.
In addition to the large market featuring numerous producer booths, the event offers traditional specialties—some of which are nearly impossible to find—as well as cooking demonstrations, tastings, and more.
For three days, Piazza Grande transforms into a showcase of all the region’s finest agricultural and culinary products—true specialties that are often impossible to find on store shelves because the extremely limited quantities produced make them difficult to market.
The numerous pavilions set up in the square—a prime location for markets since ancient times, as evidenced by the 13th-century statue of “La Bonissima,” after whom the initiative is named and who symbolizes “good trade” —host farms, pastry shops, artisanal workshops, and micro-producers of exquisite foods, all waiting to be discovered or rediscovered.
