On Sunday, March 3 2024, in Monghidoro the "Festa del maiale" is back, a festival centered on the mountain tradition of norcini, the people who slaughter pork and process its meat. The festival is a unique opportunity to observe the work of these expert butchers who pass on ancient customs.
Throughout the day of Sunday, the streets of the village will be full of meat artisans, who will prepare products that can be both purchased and tasted at the many food stands. Along with sausages, ribs, salumi, capocolli and ciccioli at the stalls there will be other typical mountain products, as well as various themed menus that can be enjoyed in Monghidoro's restaurants.
For this edition, the "Festa del maiale" will have a preview on Saturday, March 2: in fact, it will be possible to participate in aperitifs dedicated to the event at bars and clubs in Monghidoro.
