The event celebrates the ancient agricultural New Year, a very important day in the farming civilisation.
Typical products and handicrafts from the municipal area are promoted: "Monte dello scudo" DOC wine, cheeses, honey, mushrooms, Montescudo potato, terracotta and Romagna rust printing.
Also on sale is the 'Pagnotta di San Martino' (St Martin's loaf), made with products of the autumn season, from an ancient and secret recipe. The loaf is recognised as a traditional agri-food product by the Emilia-Romagna Region.
An exhibition dedicated to the ancient craft of Romagna rust printing, whose place of origin is identified by many as Montescudo, will be set up, with demonstrations of the process.
Traditional Romagna songs and dances and musical performances will be held starting in the morning.
The Proloco of Montescudo and Monte Colombo will offer tastings of traditional local foods such as maltagliati with beans.
