Armando Spadini is represented at the Ricci Oddi Gallery of Modern Art with two works: Ritratto della signora De Carolis con le figlie (Portrait of Mrs De Carolis with her Daughters) (1908) and Lillo in culla(Lillo in his Cradle) (1921), acquired by Giuseppe Ricci Oddi in 1925 and at the 1924 Venice Biennale respectively.
Following the conference held in 2025, the presence of these two paintings inspired the idea for an exhibition. The project has developed an exhibition that explores the artist’s mature period through a select group of works created between 1917 and 1922.
The exhibition opens on 21 November 2026 and closes on 28 February 2027. The exhibition itinerary opens with two works predating his mature period, foreshadowing certain distinctive features of Spadini’s artistic exploration: his ambition to tackle large-scale canvases and brushstrokes of structural significance. The main body of the exhibition includes works held in major Italian museums: the Civic Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in Turin, the Civic Galleries of Modern Art in Mantua and Milan, and the Gallery of Modern Art at Palazzo Pitti.
