From October 14th 2023 to January 14th 2024, Ravenna hosts the 8th edition of the Biennial of Contemporary Mosaics.
Ravenna presents itself to the public as the capital of mosaics, highliting an artistic vocation focused on contemporary production but always connected to the ancient Byzantine tradition.
The city opens its most charming locations to artists from all over the world, giving life to a rich programme of events: monuments, museums, cloisters and symbolic spaces become special galleries where ancient and contemporary art continuously dialogue with each other.
The MAR - Ravenna Art Museum will host BurriRavennaOro, a significant exhibition dedicated to Alberto Burri and curated by Bruno Corà.
Hosted in the halls of the first and second floors of the museum, this significant exhibition traces the history of the intense relationship between Burri and Ravenna, started at the end of the '80s, representing and transforming the dialogue with the historical mosaics of Ravenna through the contrast between black and gold, dark and light.
Palazzo Rasponi dalle Teste will exhibit Episodi di Mosaico Contemporaneo, a project where design and mosaics meet and create new and special objects of interior design.
