Documentary exhibition dedicated to Cesare Zavattini (Luzzara, RE, 1902 - Rome, 1989) on the occasion of the thirtieth anniversary of his death.
The exhibition focuses on two main guidelines: the activity in some artistic fields (cinema, literature, painting, etc.), in the geographic areas (in both Europe and the New Continent); special themes and events, like travel (for example on the trail of Vincent Van Gogh), peace, relationships with the Latin-American writer Gabriel García Márquez and the Jewish cosmopolitan environments.
On display are documentary and iconographic materials about all the activities and the network of relations built by this versatile personality: thousands of original papers, both typed and handwritten, original notes, as well as photos (among which are the unpublished pictures of one of the major Italian photographers, Gianni Berengo Gardin), videos, posters and books, as well as his famous collection of 150 paintings 8x10 made by artists like Antonio Ligabue, Alberto Burri, Renato Guttuso, Giorgio De Chirico, Lucio Fontana, Bruno Munari, Diego Rivera, Fortunato Depero, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Mimmo Rotella and many others.
