“Vignola, It’s Cherry Time” is the long-established event celebrating the “Moretta cherry”, for which the town is famous around the world.
The cherry’s ruby-red color is the common thread running through the many activities offered every year in June.
Two weekends (May 30–31 / June 1–2 and June 6–7) are dedicated to cherries and delicious local food, with music and entertainment, live cooking shows and tastings, guided tours, and workshops for children.
Strolling through the streets of the historic center, you can stop in the food courtyards, Emilian food and wine stands open all weekend, offering a rich selection of local specialties such as crescentine, borlenghi, and all kinds of fried treats, to be enjoyed with a good glass of wine or excellent beer.
Piazza dei Contrari, with the majestic Rocca di Vignola and the fascinating Palazzo Barozzi, provides the backdrop for historical reenactments, live cooking shows, and tastings. There are also plenty of activities for children, including fun facts, readings, and creative workshops.
