In Emilia-Romagna, there are special evenings that seem to go on longer than others.
One such evening is the Blue Night: the health and wellness festival that celebrates the world of spas and thermal water.
Every year in Summer, when the first signs of summer promise warmer evenings ahead, the region’s spas open their doors to visitors and tourists, entertaining them late into the night with a series of themed events and activities. Although this year it will be held extraordinarily in late August.
It is no coincidence then that the Blue Night spa night takes place right here: Emilia-Romagna is one of Italy's regions with the most spa facilities to its name.
Water has been used since ancient times to help relieve ailments and to restore the body; now we use it to do all this and more, allowing it to transport us far away from our daily toil and trouble, immersing us in an ambiance of total relaxation and wellness.
The Blue Night pays tribute to this tradition with a series of events, not only involving the region's spas but also the surrounding area. From the lush-green valleys of Emilia, to the vast expanses of sand that stretch along the Romagna coastline, the festival has concerts, excursions, markets, activities and guided tours lined up for all ages and interests.
In keeping with the theme colour of this all-night-long spa event, spas will be adorned in blue and will hold a range of activities, such as wellness treatments for the face and body, blue salt scrubs, access to the therapy facilities and thermal pools, and even wellness packages. In the region known for its excellent cuisine, food and wine will also take on this watery hue: there will be a whole host of blue-themed dinners, finger food and cocktails.
The Blue Night is therefore a celebration of spa pampering and wellness in all its forms, including fitness, entertainment and the deepest sense of relaxation. You can experience this event alone, with friends, as a couple, or with the whole family.
