From Parma the town is located in a southernly direction towards La Spezia, on the Parma Apennines, easy to reach via the A15 motorway, Fornovo di Taro exit.

Why visit it

The territory of Solignano has a long history, as evidenced by the fossil finds, hundreds of millions of years old, which testify to a glorious past, still not very understood.
The small and modern town is overlooked by the few remains of a medieval fortress and it dominates the Taro river. Nearby is the very little village of Pietramagolana.

In the surroundings

Continuing from the town of Solignano you can reach the villages of Berceto (about 15 km) turning from the main road, with the beautiful Cathedral of San Moderanno. Or, if you continue along the main road, you will arrive at Borgo Val di Taro (about 30 km), a well-known holiday resort where the traditional Porcino Mushroom Fair takes place every year.

Closer to the village, about 8 km away, there is Varano dè Melegari, where you can visit the Castle and the Dallara Academy.
