The second edition of the Giro del Mito will take place in Bagno di Romagna on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th June 2026.
An extraordinary cycling granfondo, with start and finish in the heart of the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines, a territory rich in history, nature, culture and passion for cycling.
Breathtaking landscapes that have made the history of great races such as the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France, immersed in a context that combines sport and tradition.
The Giro del Mito was born as a unique cycling experience, capable of blending the sporting challenge with the evocative power of myths. The Myth as a universal tale of courage, limit and transformation. The Myth as a symbol of an extraordinary territory, where the Casentinesi Forests National Park, the thermal waters of Bagno di Romagna, the legendary figure of Sant'Agnese and the great climbs of the Apennines faced by champions and great cycling races become epic settings, between history, sport and myth.
A granfondo for the bold, called to a challenge “beyond time”, illuminated by Myths: the Sacred Forests, the routes of Marco Pantani, the great races such as the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France.
The Giro del Mito will also be a great moment of popular celebration, with a two-day program – Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 June – dedicated to cyclists, families and visitors. Food stands, DJ sets and musical entertainment by Radio Studio Delta, an expo area, and activities for adults and children (with themed games) will liven up the center of Bagno di Romagna.
The route is 60 km long with 1,500 meters of elevation gain, 45% of which is dirt roads and trails and 55% asphalt. The randonnée start is from Bagno di Romagna between 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 6th.
Long route: (133 km, 3,000 meters of altitude difference): designed for climbers, it passes through two Regions (Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany) and two provinces (Forlì-Cesena, Arezzo) and faces legendary climbs such as the Passo dei Mandrioli, the Passo della Calla (15 km and 825 meters of altitude difference), the Passo del Carnaio, Selvapiana and Acquapartita.
Short route: (69 km, 1,500 meters of altitude difference): more accessible but full of charm, it passes through two Municipalities (Bagno di Romagna and Verghereto) and develops around Monte Fumaiolo, to then share with the long route the final ascent towards Selvapiana and Acquapartita, up to the finish line in Bagno di Romagna.
