To mark the 550th anniversary of the birth of Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475–1564), Palazzo Fava will host the exhibition "Michelangelo and Bologna" from November 14, 2025, to February 15, 2026.
The exhibition project offers an original itinerary that analyzes the bond between the artist and the city, focusing on his early stays and the artistic and cultural context in which he was formed during his youth.
The narrative unfolds through a display combining original works, historical casts, drawings, antique books, and archival documents, further enriched by the presence of works by other great protagonists of the Italian Renaissance such as Ercole de’ Roberti, Francesco Francia, Lorenzo Costa, and Amico Aspertini, offering a communal tribute to the period and the genesis of Michelangelo's genius.
