Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 April 2025 "Eliopoli - Terra di Confine" returns within the walls of the Fortress of Terra del Sole in the province of Forlì -Cesena.
"Heliopolis, a borderland" is a gathering of historical groups from the early 17th century with over 380 re-enactors from all over Europe who meet in the fortress town to revive its centuries-old history. The military camp inside the walls is an accurate reconstruction of a Renaissance camp and is enlivened by battles and military patrols typical of the period, thanks to the figures of the participating historical groups.
There will be guided tours of the fortress, the encampments and military life at the San Martino bastion, as well as historical shows, concerts and musical events.
It will also be possible to taste typical local products and historical specialities, with a careful selection of dishes from the period.
And the name Heliopolis? The name is inspired by 'Heliopoli', the original name of Terra del Sole, founded by Cosimo I De' Medici on 8 December 1564, with the aim of defending the borders of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany.
