Fifty years after the passing of one of the most brilliant and versatile artists of the 20th century, which took place in Paris on November 18, 1976, the Magnani-Rocca Foundation is organizing the largest Italian retrospective dedicated to the artist, from September 12 to December 13, 2026. The exhibition brings together over 250 works including photographs, paintings, sculptures, objects, films, and graphics, aiming to showcase all the disciplines explored by Man Ray, not just photography.
The exhibition highlights Man Ray's idea of total art, capable of combining different mediums and influencing later artists like Andy Warhol.
Curated by Walter Guadagnini, Mauro Carrera, and Stefano Roffi, the show gathers works from major international museums and collections.
