From 7 December 2025 to 31 December 2026, the exhibition “Sulla via delle origini. Gatteo nella protostoria” (The Path of Origins: Prehistoric Gatteo) offers a fascinating insight into the archaeological discoveries made between 2018 and 2020 at the Nuovo Polo Logistico Teddy in Gatteo.
The excavations uncovered a settlement area with origins in the prehistoric era, which developed through to the Roman period, allowing scholars to reconstruct the birth and evolution of Gatteo and enriching the broader archaeological landscape of the Rubicone region.
Housed within the Giuseppe Ceccarelli Municipal Library, the exhibition displays significant finds, including evidence from the protohistoric period, villages, and richly furnished graves dating from the 8th to the 6th century BCE, uncovered between Via Campagnola and Via Mistadella.
Coordinated by the Superintendency of Archaeology, Fine Arts, and Landscape for the provinces of Ravenna, Forlì-Cesena, and Rimini, these artifacts provide invaluable insights into the material culture of the time, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the daily life and traditions of those who inhabited this land millennia ago.
