From 12th October 2024 to 12th January 2025, the MAR - Ravenna Art Museum hosts I'M A MOSAIC - Da Severini, Sironi, Fontana a Paladino, Plessi e Samorì, an exhibition on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the School of Mosaics, in collaboration with Accademia di Belle Art Statale di Ravenna.
The exhibition traces the history of the School of Mosaics of the city with a journey through 20th-century contemporary art, taking visitors to the origins of the renaissance of mosaics in Ravenna.
Light, matter and colour, fragments and reconstruction are the main theme of the exhibition, comparing the experiences of some of the most important artists and movements of contemporary art: from Gino Severini, Achille Funi and Mario Sironi through Lucio Fontana and Mimmo Paladino, to the installations of Fabrizio Plessi.
