Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 January 2024, "The Nutcracker" returns to the Teatro Duse in Bologna, the Russian ballet reworked in a modern version that addresses current issues such as ecological sensitivity, the human condition and the loss of identity in a multiform society.
Massimo Volpini's dynamic choreography, together with the participation of Carola Puddu and the presence of Urban dance performers, give life to a reality-dream combination that leaves room for lucid and poetic reflection.
The show is divided into two acts: the first is set in an imaginary metropolitan suburb inhabited by homeless people. Here, Father Christmas becomes a mysterious benefactor and the Nutcracker his most awaited gift. In the second act, traditional settings and characters, on a journey through the dances of the world, accompanied by the music of Tchaikovsky.
