Located in the Rimini Apennines on the border with the Marche region, the Eremo di Monte Carpegna is one of the ski resorts of the Montecopiolo area. Together with the nearby Villagrande ski resort, Eremo represents an important destination for ski lovers in the Upper Montefeltro area.
Skiing on Mount Carpegna (1,415 metres above sea level) means experiencing the enchanted atmosphere of the Sasso Simone Simoncello Cross-regional Park, a natural area that stretches between Emilia-Romagna and Marche and includes a rich variety of animal and plant species. The mountain, in particular, is covered with vast prairies that, when the snow melts, reveal a myriad of orchids, buttercups and other colourful flowers.
As for skiing, the Eremo di Monte Carpegna area offers about 12 kilometres of ski and snowboard slopes served by two lifts (a three-seater chairlift and a ski lift). Located at an altitude of between 1,236 and 1,397 metres, the area boasts 5 medium-difficulty slopes, plus a snowpark and a medium slope for snow-tubing, and 4 easy slopes, which also include a ski and snowboard school. A bobsleigh and sledge track and two cross-country ski trails complete the offer.
The ski resort also includes a lodge with a bar and restaurant, as well as the Sanctuary of the Madonna del Faggio di Monte Carpegna, dating back to the 13th century.
