Montiano (Muncin in Romagna) is a small town in the hills of Cesena.
The Rocca Malatestiana (late 16th century) that dominates the town of Montiano is today only partially open to the public. Shaped like a heart, it dominates and fills the small village. From the outside its high walls hide the elegance of its interior and give the artifact a powerful and intriguing air. At the time of its greatest splendor it possessed elegant crenellated walls, large halls, precious frescoes, a church and a large garden.
On the hill opposite, the picturesque Park of Remembrance, with the War Memorial, from which you can enjoy a beautiful landscape on the plain.
This mainly hilly area allows long walks and trekking in the greenery of Romagna, perfect in every season to admire the surrounding environment.
Every year Montiano hosts the Sagra del Cicciolo with a culinary program of excellence at the end of September.
The strategic position of Montiano allows every tourist to find what he is looking for within a few km. If in less than 20km you reach the Adriatic on the Cesena side perfect during the summer season, going inland you can visit in less than half an hour by car the areas of Romagna- Tuscany, discovering the spa of Bagno di Romagna, or with a few kilometers more the Montefeltro area and its villages.
