Fourth edition of the international exhibition of drawing Biennale Disegno Rimini - from 4 May to 28 July.
Organised and curated by the Department of Culture and the Municipal Museums of Rimini, this event returns, with its consolidated format of exhibitions located in the various institutional venues - City Museum, Gambalunga Library, Palazzo del Fulgor and Sismondo Castle - and with the Open Circuit, an expression of direct and interacting dialogue with the city and its territory, which includes other exhibitions in private and public spaces (galleries, artists' and architecture studios, bookshops).
12 simultaneous exhibitions will display 1,000 drawings coming from the Royal Academy of San Fernando in Madrid and the Fonds Régional d’Art Contemporain de Picardie, ranging from the travel notebooks of Felice Giani to those of Mattotti; from Piranesi’s engravings to Thayaht’s projects; but also from important private collections such as the Studiolo Rivi with masters of the fifties and sixties such as Morandi, Fontana and Fautrier; from the Carteles of Cuban cinema to the drawings of The Rose of Bagdad at the Cantiere Contemporaneo.
The format of the event is the one already tested in the previous editions, consisting of several parallel exhibitions, meetings with specialists, scholars and journalists, readings, lectures, performances, art talks, and educational workshops around drawing in all its meanings.
