Now in its ninth edition, the Granfondo Squali-Trek is one of the most popular and well-attended amateur events in Italy.
Organised by the Velo Club Cattolica and the Ciclo Team 2001 Gabicce Mare, it is a sporting event dedicated to cycling and held over a long distance.
This year the magic will be repeated from 10th to 12th May, when sportsmen, enthusiasts and cycling novices will meet in Cattolica for three days of sport.
The centre of the entire competition, as well as the base camp, will be the Shark Arena, located inside the Cattolica Aquarium Park, an expo space with the presence of over 70 exhibitors.
There are two routes planned: the Short route of 85 km with 1365 metres of altitude difference and the Long route of 135 km, for an impressive 2180 metres of altitude difference.
The planned start is from Cattolica's Aquarium, while the finish line is on the hill of Gabicce Monte. Here, there will be the now famous Maxi Ristoro: lots of grilled blue fish served with piadina.
Among the novelties of the last edition were 'Squali 46': the route Squali 46 was created in honor of Valentino Rossi and the charming village of Tavullia.
