One of the strongest elements of the event has always been the gastronomic offerings, a true mirror of local traditions in a review of excellence also made unique by the presence of as many as 15 Pro Loco of the Estense Lands and beyond.
More than 100 exhibitors enliven a large exhibition-market that celebrates autumn through the scents and flavors of the Estense Lands.
Among the stands you can taste dishes such as: cappellacci di zucca, cappelletti ferraresi, passatelli al tartufo, and salama da sugo. Also, De.Co. products such as Ferrara bread, macaroni pie and mandurlin dal pont. Traditional desserts and local delicacies such as clams from Goro, erbazzone and chizze from Reggio Emilia, saba and savor, grape juices, fried gnocco and burlenghi from the Modena Apennines and many other specialties, all accompanied by selected craft beers, native wines, bitters and traditional spirits.
For two days, Ferrara will once again become a ducal capital: ladies, knights and flag-wavers will bring the squares to life with performances of medieval and Renaissance dances, sword fights and period music. A reconstruction of a 14th-century village will offer a glimpse into the daily life and trades of the time, transforming the heart of the city into a fascinating living theatre.

Created to enhance the cultural heritage of the ancient Duchy of Este, this event is now the most important food and wine fair in the city, recognized in 2023 with the De.Co. (Denominazione Comunale) mark, and in 2024 as a Quality Event by the National Union of Pro Loco Italy.
