Every year, the 'Barrocci Festival' is renewed in Sant'Angelo di Gatteo, eleven days dedicated to good food, music and conviviality.
The program includes comedy shows, concerts, entertainment for children, exhibitions, parade of figures in period costumes with musicians and stilt walkers, fireworks and of course a food stand with many traditional Romagna specialities.
Special feature of the party? A one-of-a-kind relay race, in which the villages of the town compete in speed races using a cart (Barroccio in Italian), a handcrafted vehicle made up of a wooden board welded onto small wheels with a handlebar to guide it.
