Rimini is set to host the “Longest New Year’s Eve in the world”, with many events for more than a month of celebrations, from December to Epiphany, including music, art, culture, cinema, shows and Christmas initiatives, markets, nativity scenes and the ice-skating- rink close to the beach.
A widespread programme that will kick off with the switching on of the Christmas lights on 25 November, in unison with the whole of Romagna, and will continue until Epiphany.
The high point, as per tradition, is on 31 December, with plenty of ‘scattered’ New Year’s Eves, from the seaside to the historic centre, that have made 31 December in Rimini one of the trendiest squares in Italy.
This year the big concert returns to Piazzale Fellini, in the shadow of the Grand Hotel so dear to Fellini, with a leading Italian singer-songwriter: Biagio Antonacci. For this event the artist has not by chance chosen the title "Tutti a Rimini, Biagio Antonacci live". The concert, starting at 10 p.m., will be an opportunity for all fans to sing along with their beloved artist, retracing, through a setlist designed especially for 31 December in Rimini, songs that have marked Antonacci's thirty-year career.
Unmissable, at the stroke of midnight, is the fireworks display over the sea that will see the Rimini sky 'light up' with evocative multi-coloured embroidery.
The New Year's Eve of Culture will then continue until late at night in the old town centre with unique events spread throughout the city's identity places that will be transformed for one night into extraordinary stages for events of great evocative power.
