The San Michele Fair is the oldest in Santarcangelo di Romagna.
Also popularly known as the 'bird fair', every year, at the end of September, it welcomes 30,000 visitors from Romagna and neighbouring regions and boasts over 200 exhibitors presenting pets, agricultural equipment and products, handicrafts, and a street market.
The occasion is the celebration of the patron saint of the town of Santarcangelo, a real feast with food stands and typical local products including the water onion that has recently become a new Slow Food Presidium!
It is also called the “Bird Fair” because an unusual “singing” competition for birds is held during the event.
An appointment that will surprise adults and children alike for the displays of numerous varieties of birds and is completed by a large space for plants, flowers, and gardening articles.
