It was 1993 when New Zealand's Greg Turner won in Modena.
After 31 years, the Italian Open, the most̀ important international event organized by the Italian Golf Federation, which has been part of the DP World Tour European golf circuit since 1972, returns to Emilia-Romagna, an area that offers as many as 20 golf courses.
There will be four days-from June 27 to 30, 2024 at Adriatic Golf Club Cervia-when the eyes of the world (in Italy the tournament will be broadcast by Sky Sports) will be on the Ravenna resort of Milano Marittima.
And it is here just a few steps from the sea, in this one of the most exclusive and elegant resorts on the Riviera Romagnola, that golf enthusiasts will want to come to emulate their favorites and improve their handicap by playing the first nine holes of the 27-hole course reminiscent of Scottish courses and the second nine, which with its numerous water obstacles, is reminiscent of the great American courses.
The tournament is part of the 2024 schedule of the DP World Tour, the professional tournament circuit once called the European Tour.
Among the 156 professionals competing, there will be about a dozen Italian players.
From Piacenza to Rimini, Emilia-Romagna offers 20 possible choices for lovers of the green, with courses of 9 (6 courses), 18 (11 courses) or 27 (3 courses) holes, suitable for beginners and professionals.
