From June 23rd to 27th, 2025, the Appenninica MTB Stage Race will return to the Apennines of Emilia-Romagna, drawing riders from around the globe ready to take on one of the most demanding and spectacular mountain bike stage races in Italy.
Spanning five stages, the race will cover approximately 330 kilometers and 12,000 meters of elevation gain, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Apennine ridge that marks the border with Tuscany.
This region is a true haven for outdoor and sports enthusiasts: breathtaking views, grueling climbs, technical trails, and thrilling descents, perfect elements for a competition that has become a benchmark on the international MTB scene.
Participants will face a tough yet exhilarating challenge, one that promises unforgettable memories and the deep satisfaction of experiencing something truly unique in a still largely undiscovered corner of the off-road cycling world.
The host towns of the race village will welcome athletes and their companions with the signature warmth of Emilia-Romagna, paired with a culinary tradition that remains one of the most celebrated in the world, even in the sporting sphere.
The 2025 edition will kick off in the municipality of Lizzano in Belvedere, nestled between the Corno alle Scale and Monte Pizzo areas, and home to a fully equipped bike park. The race will unfold with increasingly engaging stages, and for the first time, the third leg will lead riders to Riolunato. From there, the journey continues toward Castelnovo ne’ Monti, where the final stage will take place—a scenic loop around the town, at the foot of the majestic Pietra di Bismantova.
