Emilia-Romagna offers a wide selection of perfectly equipped bike parks for those seeking adrenaline-filled and technical trails to ride on their mountain bikes.
In addition, from winding tracks among the inland hills to trails deep in the Apennine forests, this region has become a reference point for downhill and freeride biking in Italy.
With a keen eye for safety and respect for the environment, Emilia-Romagna's bike parks offer facilities and trails designed for experienced riders and thrill seekers alike, in a natural setting that enhances every descent.
Below is a collection of Emilia-Romagna's bike parks, to find out where to train with jumps and pump tracks, and launch yourself on your next descents.
In Piacenza, at the Pattinodromo Comunale in Corso Europa, there is a track dedicated to mountain biking, while in Castel San Giovanni at Skill Park, natural materials combine with artificial elements to create the ideal environment for improving one's technique. Both are managed by 101% Off Road Mtb School.
In the Reggio Emilia Apennines, at the ski resort of Febbio-Rescadore (in the municipality of Villa Minozzo) the Alpe di Cusna Bike Park was recently opened, which features several adult trails and a kids' bike park area dedicated specifically to children, located at the base of the slopes.
In Felina (in the municipality of Castelnovo ne'Monti), the association Riviviamo Felina runs the Furnason Bike Park, which has many facilities for training young and old alike.
In the Modenese Apennines, the reference point for Mtb enthusiasts is Sestola, with the Cimone Bike Park, which offers numerous downhill tracks served by lifts, nestled in the woods of the Cimone district.
In the Bolognese plain, there are some municipal training circuits: in Casalecchio di Reno the Bike Park Casalecchio, in San Lazzaro the SanLaBikePark, in Castel Maggiore the Fortinbike, an easy trail that goes into the Parco della Pace in Trebbo di Reno.
But it is by moving toward the Bolognese Apennines that the adrenaline kicks in!
In the municipalities of Loiano, Monghidoro, Monzuno and San Benedetto Val di Sambro there is BOMBA - BOlogna Montana Bike Area: born in 2020 thanks to the efforts of some local enthusiasts, this area dedicated to mountain biking presents trails of different types and difficulty, and the opportunity to ride during all four seasons immersed in a unique natural scenery, including natural caves, waterfalls and breathtaking views.
In Lizzano in Belvedere on the other hand, the Corno alle Scale bike park sets the standard, with numerous downhill and enduro trails. In fact, the area has become a true paradise for Mtb enthusiasts, who can choose between the adrenaline-filled tracks for freeride descents (particularly in the Monte Pizzo - Vidiciatico area) and mountain bike trails (suitable for both muscle and electric bikes) that are marked and signposted; in summer, it is also possible to climb to the top of Corno alle Scale (1945 m) by taking advantage of the chairlifts equipped with special bike racks.
The area is managed by the sports association Corno alle Scale Bike, which organizes group bike rides almost every week and various thematic events throughout the year.
To conclude, in Forlimpopoli, in the heart of Romagna, there is the BRN Village, the first village in Italy entirely dedicated to the world of cycling, which is located on a 70,000-square-meter decommissioned industrial area, now transformed into an ambitious urban regeneration project dedicated to sports and sustainable mobility.
The BRN Village hosts the largest pump track area in Italy, an XC/MTB track, two dirt ramps for the most spectacular evolutions and stunts, as well as a jump ramp with airbags to learn all the secrets of flying.
