  • First stop - DEMM Museum Porretta Terme

The first stage is a tribute to a historic and glorious brand of the two wheeled "Apennines": the DEMM of Porretta Terme (Alto Reno Terme), a legendary engineering industry and motorcycle company active from 1919 to 1988.

Starting early in the morning and leaving behind the city of Bologna, along the highway 64 Porrettana you can reach, in just over an hour, the center of the famous spa town where the DEMM Museum is located (Via Mazzini, 230, open every day by appointment only).

Inside you can admire more than 100 models and prototypes of historic motorcycles from Dick -Dick, the first moped DEMM built in 1956, or the first two-stroke 125cc motorcycle produced by the company and the "Mini DEMM".

The museum also boasts some valuable collectibles, including a unique example of "Motrice Pia" made by engineer Enrico Bernardi in 1884, the first engine in the world.

In the surrounding area, it is worth visiting the town of Castelluccio with the interesting Manservisi Castle.

  • Second stop - Il Corno alle Scale Lizzano in Belvedere

With the second stop the route climbs further towards Lizzano in Belvedere and the Corno alle Scale with the Cavone refuge as its destination.

The route is pleasant and particularly suitable for lovers of two wheels. The advice is to stop, just under halfway through, to visit the mountain center of Vidiciatico.

It is a medieval village that offers interesting ideas for a walk starting from the characteristic old town with the four access vaults, the apse of the old church and the adjacent bell tower.

Taking the route again, we proceed towards the small town of Cavone (right at the foot of the Corno alle Scale mountain) where there is the homonymous lodge suitable for lunch and a starting point for lovely walks.

The area is also equipped with a picnic area and offers a picturesque setting thanks to the presence of a pond.

Favouring roads that enhance the motorcycling experience and returning towards Lizzano in Belvedere, you can reach the Segavecchia Lodge (900 metres above sea level) where you can dine and spend the night.

Immersed in the heart of the Corno alle Scale Park, surrounded by cool, lush forests on the slopes of the massif, we strongly recommend taking the opportunity for a morning walk in the surrounding area after a restorative breakfast, before getting back in the saddle.

  • Third stop - The Suviana basin Camugnano

For the last part we change scenery (and valley) and we reach the Regional Park of the lakes of Suviana and Brasimone between the municipalities of Camugnano and Castiglione dei Pepoli.

A traditional destination for seasonal Bolognese tourism, the Suviana basin has experienced a period of happy rebirth in recent years.

Located 400 meters above sea level, it is the ideal destination for a day outdoors dedicated to relaxation, sports or trekking.

From its shores numerous paths lead up the surrounding slopes, such as Monte di Stagno or Monte di Baigno.

Also worth visiting in the surrounding area is the magical centuries-old chestnut grove of Poranceto and the many villages perched on these hills, such as the village of Bargi and the characteristic and "mysterious" village of Chiapporato, dating back to the seventeenth century and inhabited until 2003.
